A Simple Lunch: Farmer’s Sandwich

Welcome to the first official post of my new, permanent blog Living Romantically where I plan to combine all my interests, healthy eating, historical research, and happy living, into one location. I’ve got a ton of ideas with eight posts queued, ready for posting every week day.

As a little welcoming gift, here’s a delicious and simple recipe to liven up your lunch. I’ve discovered that healthy eating is simple eating and what is more simple and romantic than a little farming family in a tiny cottage eating a sandwich? I made it for the first time yesterday and plan to make it again and again.

Ingredients:
two slices of crusty bread
stone-ground mustard
sharp cheddar cheese, sliced
one small apple, thinly sliced

Spread a healthy portion of mustard on both slices of bread, pile one side with sliced cheddar cheese and apple, and top with the other slice of bread. Serve.

Couldn’t be more simple.

What are your easy, go-to lunch ideas?
